Our e-learning training programme aimed at surgical theatre groups of multi-professional healthcare staff has just been completed. The theatre team training is now ready for distribution to Trusts wishing to improve team cohesion in this critical area of service delivery.

Course components concentrate on every aspect and dynamic of surgical team operation, from ever changing leadership roles through to communication, team structure, interpretation and individual perceptions. The e-learning modules also provide valuable insight and understanding into the spoken and unspoken cues that are often percieved and accepted as cultural norms within healthcare teams functioning in highly pressured surgical theatre environments.

Whilst the training is of great benefit to individual surgical team members, to maximise the learning experience and ensure positive and lasting behavioural improvements, the programme is best worked through together with entire team participation.
