TFI Network

Rapid progress in healthcare technology demands enhanced focus on technology training. Drawing knowledge from multi-disciplinary collaborations to enhance training effectiveness and capacity is integral to raising professional standards, ensuring patient safety and improving efficiency and competitiveness in the NHS.

We partner academic, clinical, industry and regulatory expertise to maximise knowledge exchange in developing innovative training tools to exploit identified opportunities. TFI encourages and welcomes members from across all disciplines in the commercial and public sector as well as academia and government bodies, who are interested in driving progress in healthcare technology training in the UK. TFI membership helps grow this important Network and particularly encourages and welcomes applications from individuals wishing to join on behalf of their employing organisation.

Our expanding stakeholder membership represents:- The Department of Health, NHS Hospital Trusts, PCT's, Academia, Medical Device Manufacturers, Training and Education bodies, National Innovation Hubs, Clinicians and Healthcare Workers, Government Agencies and Bodies, Medical Simulation Developers and Training Providers etc., etc.

At the most recent workshop (17th March, 2009) one of the break-out workshops posed the question, “What can TFI do to support medical device trainers?” There was strong groundswell of support for the concept of establishing a Forum specifically for Medical Device Trainers in NHS Trusts. TFI is now working hard to establish a Medical Device Trainers Forum within the TFI website. We will be announcing soon the launch of the opening of this Forum and will inform Members directly when it is open for business.
